John Wesley Clatterbuck was born in VA in 1813. He was the son of Landon Clatterbuck b. 1784 in VA and Ellen C. Ross b. 1794 in VA. He was the grandson of James S. Clatterbuck of VA and the VA line in the American Revolutionary War, battle of York Town. He was married to Nancy E. Yowell of TN. He was a Carpenter and Real Estate Agent. He was the father of 10 children. His children were; Andrew F. Clatterbuck b. 1845, Roberta R. Clatterbuck b.1849,Caroline C. Clatterbuck b. 1851, Virginia Ann Clatterbuck b. 1853, John Wesley Clatterbuck Jr. b. 1855, Mathew W. Clatterbuck b. 1855, Celesta Ellen Clatterbuck b. 1860, Charles Landon Clatterbuck b. 1862, Elizabeth E. Clatterbuck b. 1865, George E. Clatterbuck b. 1867, and Sarah Frances Clatterbuck-Andrews b. 1871. He came to Iowa in a coverd wagon with his wife. John Wesley Clatterbuck lived to be 101 years old.
