Becker, Louis "Lou" Joseph 84, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away January 17, 2012, at his home in Florissant surrounded by his loving family. Lou was born on May 15, 1927, in St. Louis. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jacqueline (Lee) of 58 years and six children: Michael (Julie) Becker; Douglas (Christi) Becker; Patrick (Debby) Becker; Kathryn (Dave) Hasty; Carol (Bill) Massmann; Maryanne (Chris) Wallace; and thirteen grandchildren: Wendi, Christopher, Kristen, Lynn, Amy, Kaylyn, Rose, Matthew, Jacob, Valerie, Miranda, Austin, and Sophie; and five great-grandchildren: Lelaina, Elias, Isabella, Colton, and Juliette; and ten stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren; dear brother of Sister George Becker of the Little Sisters of the Poor. He is preceded in death by his parents, Aloysius and Amelia, and brothers Clary, Ray, Al, and Rich. Lou played football for the Rough Riders, and graduated Roosevelt High School in 1946. He is a U.S. Army WWII veteran. He is a University of MissouriColumbia alumnus (graduated 1951), an Alpha Sigma Phi member, and devoted Mizzou football fan. A life-long St. Louisan, Lou served his community in many ways including Boy Scouts, and long-term neighborhood trustee. Lou was kind-hearted and friendly to all, and will be remembered as a lively storyteller with a spirited sense of humor. Services: A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, Jan. 26 from 3-8 p.m. at STYGAR Florissant Chapel and Cremation Center, 13980 New Halls Ferry Rd. A celebration of life Mass will be held on Friday, Jan. 27, 11 a.m. at St. Norbert Catholic Church. (MEET AT CHURCH) Interment follows at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
