Everett Eugene (Gene) Ball, 77 of Williamstown died at his residence on July 4, 2002 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Parkersburg a son of the late Millard and Gertrude Stuckey Ball.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Anne Fox Ball, his son, Edward E. Ball and wife Sandy, of Weirton, his daughter Debra Anne Ball of Williamstown, his sister Inez Gahring of Akron, OH and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Evelyn Downey.

A 1943 graduate of Parkersburg High School, he was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII, having served from June of 1943 until being honorably discharged in March of 1946. He was in battles and campaigns in Germany (Rhineland) and other areas of Central Europe. He received the American Theatre Ribbon, the European, African, and Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbons, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Ribbon, and the Croix de Guerre. He had worked at Monongahela Power Company, Electromet, and was retired from Borg-Warner Chemicals following 30 years of service.

He was a 44-year member of Williamstown Lodge # 129 A. F. and A. M., Parkersburg Jerusalem Chapter # 3 Royal Arch Masons, Calvary Commandery # 3 Knights Templar, Nemesis Temple Shrine (A.A.O.N.M.S.), Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, SJ, USA, Valley of Parkersburg, American Legion Post #15, and was a Past Monarch of Ben Bey Grotto.

Funeral services will be Sunday 2:00 PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, Reverend Earl Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens with full Masonic gravesite rites. Visitation will be Saturday 2-4 and 6-8 PM and until time of services Sunday. Memorials may be made to the Masonic Home, 3826 Murdoch Ave. Parkersburg or Bethel Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 324 Waverly, WV 26184.
