Rites Friday For Rev.C.T. Brockette
BLOOMING GROVE, Oct. 25—(Spl)—Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. for the Rev. Claude T. Brockette, 80, retired Methodist minister, who died at this home in Hillsboro Thursday.
The services will be held from the First Methodist Church at Blooming Grove with burial in Rose Hill cemetery. The Rev. Roy Davis,
Pastor of the church, and the Rev. Bruce Weaver, pastor of the Hillsboro Methodist Church, will conduct the rites.
A native of Tennessee, the Rev. Mr. Brockett came to Texas at the age of 18. He was ordained a minister in 1908 and retired in 1942.
He had held pastorates at many churches in the central Texas conference the last being at Blooming Grove where he resided until 1954.
Survivors include his wife, Hillsboro; two sons, C. T. Brockette, Jr., Fort Worth; Marlin L. Brockette, superintendent of schools at Hillsboro; three daughters, Mrs. D. W. Barnett, teacher in Bowie school, Corsicana; Mrs. William Cruise, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. James Cowan, Killeen; a brother, C. J. Brockette, Grandview; two sister, Mrs. Will Draper, Cookville, Tenn.; Mrs. C. O. Jones, Cleveland, Tenn.; and 17 grandchildren.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
McCormick Funeral Service will be in charge of arrangements.
