ALGONQUIN - David S. Pitner, 47, of Algonquin, died Saturday, March 3, 2007, in Elgin. He was born May 11, 1959, in Waukegan.
He was employed at Rocket Software in Newton, Mass. He was an honorary member of the Barrington Fire Department.
He was a friend to all he met. Always a servant at his church, Church in the Word, he was actively involved in several ministries. Wherever there was a need, he was ready to help. He enjoyed watching Cubs baseball and Packers football, as well as playing disc golf. He was known for his handyman skills and working on computers. It was nearly impossible for him to say no when someone asked for help. He cherished his wife and loved everyone in his family. He was very proud of his children and their accomplishments.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannine L. (Ring) Pitner; his children, Scott T. (Sara D.) Pitner, Jeffrey D. Pitner and Keith W. Pitner; his parents, Joan H. (DeWeese) Pitner and Robert J. Pitner; a brother, Gregory A. (Sheryl) Pitner; one niece; and many nephews and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by Madelyn DeWeese and Ralph DeWeese.
The visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 9, at Willow Funeral Home, 1415 W. Algonquin Road, Algonquin. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at Church in the Word, 430 Airport Road, Elgin. Memorials may be made to Church in the Word, 430 Airport Road, Elgin.
