Juanita Mildred (Steenburgen) Oakley 83 of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday January 28, 2012 at Golden Living Center. She was born on November 10, 1928 in Henley, a daughter of the late John Walter and Georgia Nichols Steenburgen.

She was a graduate of the Cole County R-5 High School in Eugene. She owned her own beauty salon in Eugene for many years. She was a member of the Eastern Star , and White Shrine. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery, cooking and spending time with her family. She was known for her world famous chocolate pie and lemon pie.

She is survived by her two children, Etta Marie Taylor of Henley and Randall Davis and wife Patti of O'Fallon, seven grandchildren, David Taylor, Cara Taylor-Steele, Walter Davis, Peter Dais, Eubie Dais, Nicole Davis and Jacob Dais, and seven great grandchildren, She was preceded in death by one son, Gregory L. Davis, one grandson, Jesse Lee Davis, and eight siblings, Connie Steenburgen, Flora Steenburgen Hudson, ella Steenburgen, Barcie Steenburgen Hale, Mary Etta Steenburgen, Virginia Steenburgen Bryan, Elroy Steenburgen and Anna Lea Steenburgen.

Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday January 31 2012 at Houser Millard Funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 2p.m. Wednesday February 1, 2012 at the Spring Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Waters officiating. Interment will follow in Hickory Hill Cemetery.
