OBITUARY, The Anthon Herald, 18 October 1944, page 3: Elizabeth L. Anderson was born in Arena, Wisconsin, October 31, 1853, and passed away at her home in Sioux City October 5, 1944, at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 5 days. She was united in marriage to W.W. Coon November 28, 1873, in Shelby Co., Iowa. They moved to Woodbury County a few years later and settled on a farm four miles south of Correctionville, where they passed twenty-eight years. They moved to Sioux City in 1908. To this union nine children were born. One daughter, Elsie Denton, preceded her in death. Her husband, W.W. Coon, passed away fourteen years ago. Survivors include the following children: Mrs. James Mayclin of Chamberlain, South Dakota; J.A. Coon of Correctionville; Forest V. Coon of LaSalle, Colorado; Mrs. Gladys Denton of Missoula, Montana; Mrs. Zelma Babcock, Goldie Coon, H.W. Coon and James B. Coon, all of Sioux City. Fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends also mourn her passing. Funeral services were held at Anderson Funeral Home in Sioux City, Monday, October 9, with interment in Graceland Cemetery, Sioux City.
