Mrs. Nellie Jane Careins, 84, 422 1/2 W. Charles St., died at 3:05 p.m. Wednesday at Ball Hospital after a few hours illness. She was the widow of Rollin James Careins, who died in 1947. Prior to her husband's death they operated Careins Market on South Liberty Street for many years.
She was a member of the Madison Street Methodist Church, Rebeka Lodge at Matthews and a former member of the Eastern Star at Greenville, Ohio.
Survivors include a foster daughter, Mrs. Cecil Davis, RR 3, Marion; three nieces; a nephew; and a sister-in-law.
The body was taken to the Parson Mortuary, where arrangements are being completed.
