Friedrich August Kaulfus was born December 17, 1924 in the Barclay area to Paul and Hertha Weiser Kaulfus. He was the fifth of six kids born in this union. He joined the Army in 1944. He married Marie Martha Chaloupka on June 5, 1948 in Temple, Texas. Together they had one child, Ronald Joe. Together Fred and Marie farmed and labored for everything they had. Fred died on January 29,2012 after a week of failing health.
Fred is proceeded in death by his parents, Paul and Hertha Kaulfus, two sisters, Otillie and Elise, and two brothers Otto and Oskar.
Fred is survived by his wife, Marie and son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Irene of Gatesville. Grandchildren, Ashley Chaney and husband Adam of Waco, Aaron Kaulfus and Austin Kaulfus both of Gatesville, and sister Marie Biels of Elgin.
Visitation will be Tuesday January 31, 2012 at Scanio- Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
Services will be February 1, 2012 at Salem Lutheran Church.
Burial will follow at Seaton Cemetery.
