Carrie Virginia Rogers, age 102, of Ocala, FL passed away on Friday, January 27, 2012. She was born in Hampton, VA on September 25, 1909. Carrie was raised in Hampton until the age of 13 when she moved with her mother to Yonkers, NY. Mrs. Rogers worked as a Domestic Housekeeper for various families over a 60 year period. She loved serving her family, attending parties with close friends and Big Band music. Mrs. Rogers was a Baptist. She moved to Florida from New York City in 2008.

Mrs. Rogers is survived by her daughters Constance Thomas and Gail Corley, sister Ida Holmes, grandsons Darrell King, Howard King and Alan Corley, granddaughters Phillissia Amat and Rochelle White, great grandsons Lyron Bourke, Darrell King, Jr, Jon King, Adam Corley and Ryan Corley, great granddaughters Danielle Adderly, Shaniqua King, Anjele King, Samara Amat, Ashley Ballancia, Gabriella Corley, Madison Corley and Isabella Corley, nephews James Wynder and Harold Anderson, neice Beverly Anderson.

A visitation will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 5-7pm. A funeral service will also be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 10am. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Ocala, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Memorial Program, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
