COURIER-JOURNAL OBITUARY - 02/02/2003 - NEW HAVEN - Mary Ruth Walters Mattingly, 72, passed away Friday, January 31, 2003, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown, KY. She was a member of the New Haven Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Walters and Bertha Figg Walters, and her husband of 52 years, Fred Mattingly. She is survived by her son, Rick and his wife, Fran Mattingly, of Bardstown; daughter, Suzanne and her husband, John Ray Ball, of New Haven; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services for Mary Ruth Mattingly will be at 1 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2003, in the Chapel of William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven, with Rev. Eddie Coakley officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in New Haven. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 2, 2003, from 2-8 p.m. and on Monday, February 3, 2003, from 9 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Nelson County (KY) or the American Lung Association.
