- She appears in the 1860, 1870, and 1880 census living in Hampton Falls NH with her parents. My assumption is that she was not married. A quick look did not find good matches for her in the 1900, 1910, 1920, and 1930 census.

- In addition, an online obituary for Velma M Littlefield (see www.Newburyportnews.com) says that Velma was "born in Boston, May 27, 1936, the daughter of the late Josephine Akerman. Mrs. Littlefield was raised in Hampton Falls and lived most of her life in the Akerman homestead. She graduated from Hampton Academy in 1954.". My assumption is that Velma and Charles are brother and sister.
