Louis Graw who was down from his home at Firman last Saturday reported to the American that diphtheria has been raging in his neighborhood the past three weeks and that the family of August Weber has been sorely afflicted. The malady is what is know as black diphtheria and is a most malignant type. With the exception of Mr. Weber the entire family including a married daughter and her two children have been ill and three children have died. Those who have fallen victims to the disease so far are Peter Weber 11 years old, who died a week ago last Thursday, and Mrs. Rigdon's (daughter of Weber) two children aged respectively 2 and 4 years who died on the following day. Miss Elsie Krueth 18 years old who worked in the Weber family is also very low and may not recover.
