Donald was raised in Forks and joined the US Army; he served in Korea and received 2 bronze service stars.
On Jul 24, 1954 he married the love of his life Geraldine "Geri" Stites at his mother's home in Forks. She survives him at the family home in Hoquiam.
At the age of 16 Don drove trucks for the Quillayute Airport. In 1959 he started driving log trucks for Mayr Bros. until he retired in 1988. Donald enjoyed fishing, camping, planting and tending to his garden. He loved his family and had many friends.
In addition to his wife Geri he is survived by his son, Michael (Karen) Stites of Hoquiam; daughters, Cynthia (Richard) Johnson of Brighton, CO; Maryanna (Kevin) Klahn-Wilmot of Edmonds, WA; a sister, Anita Paddock of Ridgefield, WA; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
