Mary Edna Miller was the third born child of Richard Watson Miller and Margaret Eleanor Holmes on Monday, 1 Jul 1929. Her two older siblings, Charlotte and Conrad, were fraternal twins.

On Saturday, 26 Oct 1957, she married Basil Corbett Dodd at the age of 28 [for her - he was 50]. It was Mary's first marriage and my Grand Uncle Corbett's third.

My Grand Uncle Corbett already had three daughters, two of whom were older than Mary, but Mary and Corbett were blessed with two children of their own: Stella Margaret and Basil Corbett Dodd, II.

My Grand Aunt Mary was a strong and wonderful woman. Failing health forced her to spend the last couple of years of her life in a nursing home in Winter Park, FL where she passed away on Thursday, 30 Jul 2009 (per her obituary - despite what her grave marker says). She made prior arrangements for her body to be cremated and it is her ashes that were buried in this spot in Glen Haven Memorial Park on Friday, 7 Aug 2009.

A day doesn't go by that she isn't sorely missed by her children and other surviving family members (such as myself), who looked upon her as a tower of strength and a person we knew we could count on in a time of need.
