Services for Lavern Robertson will be Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service. Visitation will be today until 7 p.m. Lavern passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at the age of 93.

Raised and educated in her birth community of Argenta, Ark., now North Little Rock. Lavern, while she was still in junior high, worked as a "Nanny." This is where she learned her artful skills in the kitchen. When World War II started Lavern wanted to do her part but because of health issues was not allowed to enlist. She contributed by working at an Arkansas ordnance plant filling bullets with black powder. Lavern loved to spend time doing volunteer work.

After the death of her first husband, Oklahoma boy Walter Couch, Lavern moved to Claremore. This is where she and Edwin Morris "Speck" Robertson were married on Feb. 9, 1980. She worked as a sales clerk at Safeway, Hegarty Drugstore, and Walgreens during her employment career.

Lavern had a wide variety of interests that included arts and crafts, painting and sewing. Her favorite activity was fishing and she would do almost anything to get to the water for an afternoon of fun.

Lavern is survived by her dear friend Karen Beauregard, her beloved pastor Wayne Keely, and his wife Carolyn, and her many wonderful, long time friends.

She was preceded in death by both of her husbands.
