W.C. BUNYEA REMAINS ARE FLOWN HOME
Funeral services for Army Private First Class Walter Clifford Bunyea Jr., 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Bunyea, are pending with Fulmer Memorial Mortuary.
Bunyea's body arrived in Las Cruces last night transported by air from Vietnam where he was killed in ground action November 7th. He was serving with D Company, 26th Infantry, First Infantry Division.
A native of Roanoke, Virginia, born June 1, 1947, he had been a resident of Las Cruces since 1949, until he enlisted in the Army in December 1966.
He was graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1965. He was a member of the string ensemble while in High School.
After entering the Army, he received his basic training at Ft. Bliss, Texas and advanced infantry training at Fort Polk, Louisiana. He had been in Vietnam since June, 1967.
He is survived by his parents; two brothers, Terrell and Dennis Bunyea of his home and a paternal grandmother, Mrs. Pearl Bunyea of Washington D.C. and his maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Anderson, Las Cruces.
