Viola was born July 3, 1931 in Prairie City, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Sarah Kinart Beyer. She graduated from Monroe High school in 1949. She married Charles F. Burmeister on August 5, 1950. They lived in Des Moines, Iowa where they raised their four children.
Survived by a son, James [Nancy] of Waterloo, Iowa; a daughter, Jelene [Robert] Glasgow of Dacula, Georgia; a daughter-in-law Carol Burmeister of Indianola, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her brothers: Harold [Wilma] Beyer, Harvey [Marlene] Beyer both of Monroe, Iowa; David Beyer of Otley, Iowa; a special adopted family: Eric & Rebekka Hoddenbagh; and 5 adopted great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband in 1995; and her sons: Timothy in 1980; Thomas in 2004.
