Graveside services for Paul Eugene Hoedebeck, 61, of Gainesville, are set for 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, with the Rev. Ken Robinson officiating under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.


A visitation is planned for 7 to 8 p.m., this evening, Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 at the funeral home.


Paul was born in Denison to Gene and Elsie Sanchez Hoedebeck.


He grew up in Muenster and attended Sacred Heart School and Subiaco Academy. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1968.


He married Diane Wiese on Aug. 30, 1970 in Gainesville.


He was a Spc. 4 in the United States Army, serving in Germany in 1971 where he was injured in a train accident. He became a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Paralyzed Veterans of America. He was a Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus.


He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Diane Hoedebeck and son, Jeff and wife, Kate Hoedebeck of Dallas. He was a wonderful Pops to his three granddaughters Alexa Rose, Megan Faith and Shea Ella. He is also survived by his sisters Linda Knabe of Muenster, Terri and Chris Cagle of Coppell, Peggy and Wayne Grewing of Muenster, Mary and Brent Hess of Muenster, Toni and Jay Lankford of Arlington, and his brothers, Joe Hoedebeck of Muenster, and Fred and Michelle Hoedebeck of The Colony. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Clara M. Wiese of Gainesville and numerous nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Lynn.
