Floyd "Bud" Bennett, 76, passed away on Wednesday, February 01, 2012. He was born January 12, 1936 the son of the late Floyd and Helen McPhillips Bennett.

He was owner and president of Bennett & Bennett Insurance, Inc. He was in the insurance industry for 52 years. He was a community volunteer and leader in many organizations in Southern Indiana. An avid golfer, he was a member of Old Capitol Golf Club and the Imperial Golf Club in Naples, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother- Dwight Bennett (Diane Harris).

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Betty (Engleman) Bennett of Corydon, IN

A daughter- Pamela Bennett Martin (David) of Georgetown, IN

Two sons-Mark Bennett of Naples, FL and Larry Bennett of Corydon, IN and two grandsons- Brent Martin and Douglas Martin (Liz).

Brothers and Sisters-Marlene Duley of Clarksville, IN; Betty Hayden (James) of Corydon; Jerry Bennett (Charlotte) of Sellersburg; Cathy Thomas (Jimmy) of Borden; Michael Bennett (Ann) of Corydon.

Twenty-three nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 4, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Corydon, IN. Father Rob Hankee and Father John Fink will be the celebrants. Entombment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Corydon on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 2 PM to 8 PM and Friday, February 3, 2012 from 10 AM to 8 PM.

Expressions of Sympathy may be made to the Bud and Betty Bennett Family Scholarship; held at the Harrison County Community Foundation; PO Box 279 Corydon, IN 47112, Hosparus of Southern Indiana and American Lung Association of Kentuckiana.
