Died, at his home in Vernon county, December 28, 1898, Mr. John S. Mosby, aged about 75 years.

Mr. Mosby was for many years a citizen of this county, and was honored and respected by all who knew him. He was an old Mexican soldier, and could talk entertainingly on this or any other subject. We have known Mr. Mosby ever since we were old enough to know anybody, and we never heard anything but good words for him and his family. An old time, honorable gentleman, upright in all his dealings. Peace to his ashes.
