Hazel A. Wiechmann, 92, Rapid City, died Monday, January 30, 2012 at Golden Livingcenter Meadowbrook. Hazel was born March 10, 1919 in Bloomfield, NE to Otto and Martha (Kool) Greckel. She attended school in Bloomfield and later worked as a maid until her marriage. She married Harold Wiechmann in Lindy, NE. They farmed in that area until opening a farm shop in Lindy. They moved to Rapid City in 1956 and have lived here since. Hazel was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Hazel was one of the kindest women and was fair with everyone. If she owed you a penny, you were sure to get it returned. She always had room for anyone who came to visit. There was always food and a place to stay. She raised 4 good boys of whom she was extremely proud. They treated her very good and were there until her passing. It is said "if a man treats their mom well, they treat their wives well", and they do. She is survived by 3 sons, Larry ‘Dean' and wife Wanda, Rapid City, Terry and wife Brenda, Massachusetts, Barry and wife Carol, Rapid City; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a brother, Clarence Greckel, Berthed, CO and a sister, Lilly Ann Sage, Yankton.
