Mrs. Shirley Margaret Whipp, 75, of Thurmont, died Thursday, February 2, 2012 at her home, following an extended illness. Born Sept. 15, 1936 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Margaret B. Ramsburg Fair. She was the wife of Harold E. Whipp, her husband of 30 years.
Mrs. Whipp was a graduate of Thurmont High School, class of 1954. She was of the Methodist faith. She was a member of the AMVETS, Thurmont and enjoyed bowling.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughter, Shirley Diane Leech of Hanover, PA; grandchildren, Ashley Leech of Hanover and Paulette Shank of Chambersburg, PA; four great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Tipman of Thurmont; and half- brother, Robert Fair of Hanover. She was pre- deceased by a brother, Paul Fair; and a sister, Florence Wastler.
