Frances M. (DeLong) Rau, 76, of Orefield, died Thursday, August 5, 2010 in her home. She was the wife of the late Charles O. Rau, Jr. Born in South Whitehall Township, March 29, 1934, Frances was the daughter of the late Stanley O. & Bertha L. (Schoemaker) DeLong. She was employed as a clerk for the former Werleys Store, in Orefield, for 18 years before retiring in 1976. Prior to that, she worked as a sewing machine operator for the former Nanette Mfg., in Allentown, for 8 years. She was a member of Jordan Evangelical Lutheran Church, Orefield.
Survivors: Daughters, Debra A. wife of David A. Brown, of Orefield, Diane M. wife of Ray Keshel, Jr., of New Tripoli; brothers, Richard S. DeLong, of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Stanley O. DeLong, Jr., of Orefield; sisters, Joyce L. Werley, of Orefield, Shirley A. Harring George of Schnecksville; grandchildren, Michelle, Stacy, Leslie and Ryan; great grandchildren, Joseph and Isabella; nieces and nephews; predeceased by a sister, Carrie J. Kriner.
Services: Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2010 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
