Her birth & death dates, (from the survey published in 1981 by Margaret Cummings Snider and Joan Hollis Yorgason), but no longer visible.
Her grave is easy to locate due to the top of the grave differing from all others. There are several Eliza Douglass's of that era. Name also spelled "Saunders" .
Eliza was born from a family of Tennessee early settlers and leaders. Her father was Edward Douglass b. 1745 who fought in the Revolutionary War. Her mother was Elizabeth Howard. Although Eliza died young, she and Charles had many children- the oldest 19 when she died, the youngest 3 years old:
- Cornelia (Miller/Outland) 1821
- James D. 1822
-Elizabeth H. (Elliott) 1823
- Mary S. 1826
-Delia A 1829 (Briscoe)
-Norville Douglass Sanders 1834
-David Mitchell (Dr) Sanders

Although Charles outlived Eliza by 31 years, there is no record to show he remarried.
