Loretta F. Deverick Schade, 83, of Mulberry Grove, died at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at her daughter's home south of Mulberry Grove.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Mulberry Grove First Baptist Church, with the Revs. Brian Deverick and Ben Potter officiating. Burial will be in McInturff Cemetery in rural Hagarstown. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at the church. Memorials: Carmi Children's Home or Smithboro Baptist Church. Online condolences may be shared at www.youngfh.net.

Mrs. Schade was born on April 5, 1928, in Patoka, the daughter of Amon and Mary Lake Steiling. She married Lloyd Deverick on Jan. 25, 1947, in Vandalia; he died on Dec. 15, 1976. She married Norbert Schade on Dec. 22, 1978; he died on Feb. 25, 1989.

She attended grade school in Shobonier and high school in Vandalia. She moved to Smithboro after marriage and lived there for 35 years before moving to Mulberry Grove. She retired from DeMoulin Brothers as a seamstress. She was an active member of Smithboro Baptist Church and a former member of the Mulberry Grove Lioness Club. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidering and seeing her family together.

She is survived by sons, Dean Deverick and his wife Debbie of Redmond, Va., Dale Deverick and his wife Connie of Smithboro, and David Deverick of Greenville; daughters, Joan and her husband David Walker of Philo, and Janet and her husband Allen Waters of Mulberry Grove; sister, Doris Goatley of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two stepchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sisters, Berneice Summers and Lula Maye Williams; and a grandson, Adam Deverick.
