-- Mr. Lonnie Vinson "Bud" Boyd, 66, of 414 Park Ave. died Oct. 5, 1989, at Charlotte Memorial Hospital. Funeral is 3 p.m. Sunday at Pineville Church of the Nazarene, where he was a member. Burial will be in Flint Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Fort Mill, S.C. Visitation is 7 to 9 tonight at McEwen Funeral Home, Charlotte chapel.

Mr. Boyd, a Fort Mill native, was a retired service technician for B&B X- ray Co. He was a World War II Army veteran and a graduate of Fort Mill High School and Clemson University. He was a life member of Pineville Fire & Rescue Inc. and Mecklenburg County Firefighters Association. He was past master of Catawba Masonic Lodge in Fort Mill.

Survivors are his wife, Christine; sons, Edward Boyd of Fort Mill, Don Boatwright of Pineville, Donnie Broom; daughters, Mrs. Polly Farris, Mrs. Mary Patterson, both of Fort Mill, Ms. Libby Jennings, Mrs. Shirley Locakmy, both of Pineville, Mrs. Patricia Lee of Elkin, Mrs. Jeanette Herring; sister, Mrs. Sara Simpson; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
