Sophie Margaret (Leyba) Christiansen, 67, of Pueblo West, Colorado, went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2008, at her home after a lengthy illness.
Sophie was ÒLa Dolce Vita,Ó a great source of strength for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Sophie was preceded in death by her father, Joseph; mother, Mary; sister, Martha; and eldest son, Joseph.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Christiansen; daughter, Tina (Ian) Land; sons, Ronald (Dana) Leyba, and Christopher (Margarita) Christiansen; grandchildren, Tiffany (Tina) Grant, Joseph Leyba, Jessica Leyba, Samuel Leyba, Olivia (Ronald) Leyba, Samantha Christiansen, Isabella Christiansen and Sophia (Christopher) Christiansen; great-grandchild, Izzabella Rose Leyba ; sisters, Betty Leyba and Joyce Leyba; brothers, Jake (Wanda) Leyba and Samuel Leyba; and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts.
Although Sophie spent most of her life in Salida, Colorado, she embraced Pueblo as her home, as her final resting place will be at Swallows Cemetery in Pueblo West.
Sophie was very thankful for all the care and love everyone gave her.
Arrangements are handled through Funeral and Cremation Care of Colorado, Pueblo West.
