At age 24 in 1917 he was working on his father's farm. He was of medium height and build, and had blue eyes and brown hair.
Lizzie and Lang were married in 1919. They had 3 children: Jack, J R and Rex (All are deceased as of 2011.). They lived in Lubbock County, where Lang was a mail carrier. He died of a heart attack in the city of Lubbock at age 67.
