a flight out of France Field, Canal Zone,
Panama, June 8, 1941.
Apparently the wreck was found in Rio Hato,
Panama, in the late 1990s.
His remains have been recovered and is
buried at the Arlington National Cemetery

Augustus Jared Allen Jr. was a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Air Force, assigned as a Pilot flying a North American O-47 in the 37th Observation Squadron.
Augustus J. Allen died due to an accident at the Panama Canal-Zone, on June 8, 1941 and he is Posthumous honored with a Purple Heart, and the American Service Defense Medal.
