*He was an American Naval Operator.
*His father was F.W. Alter, of 485 Virginia Court, Winter Park.
*A military funeral service was held from the Rollins College Chapel.

Winter Park Ensign, Paul Alter, Męt Death In Patrol Plane Crash
Ensign Paul Alter, United States Navy Reserve, 26, son of Fred W. Alter, 485 Virginia Court, Winter Park, was killed, two other officers and three enlisted men were injured in an airplane crash of a United States Navy bomber taking off on a routine patrol flight at an Atlantic Coast port, it was announced last night by the Navy Department.
Ensign Alter was a graduate of the Winter Park High School and he also attended Rollins College, where he was an end on the Varsity football squad. He was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
Following graduation from Rollins in 1937, he enlisted in the United State Navy and later went to Pensacola as a flying cadet.
His parents survive the aviator and he also leaves one brother, a resident of New York City.
