Funeral services were scheduled for 2 pm today for Felix E. "F.E.: Boudreaux, who served 39 years in public office as tax assessor of Terrebonne Parish, and deputy assessor.
Boudreaux, who died Sunday at the age of 65, retired from public service on Dec 31, 1980 after serving as assessor of Terrebonne Parish, for 25 years. Before taking that post, Boudreaux served for 14 years as the deputy assessor.
His father earlier served as parish tax assessor.
A native of Little Caillou and a resident of Houma at the time of his death, Boudreaux was known during his public service life as a strong advocate of homestead exemption for property owners and actively promoted this policy statewide.
Boudreaux also helped get legislation passed that exempted small fishing and oyster boats from property taxes.
An active member of the Louisiana Assessors' Retirement Board, Boudreaux was also a former president of the Louisiana Assessors' Association, a member of the Board of Directors of Terrebonne Bank and Trust Co., the Knights of Columbus and the veterans of Foreign Wars.
The funeral was scheduled to be held at 2 pm today at the St. Gregory Catholic church with burial following in the Holy Rosary Cemetery.

He was preceded by parents, Van Boudreaux, former Terrebonne Parish, tax assessor, and Agnes Guidry Boudreaux; brother, Joseph Emmett Boudreaux and sister, Mrs Gordon (Gloria) Haydel.
