Weaver Adair, age 79 of Breckenridge, died Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Stephens Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 28th, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with Father Joel Hampton officiating. Interment will be held in the Waresville Cemetery in Utopia, Texas, at a later date. Services have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.

Weaver Ray Adair was born on July 18, 1929 in Uvalde, Texas, to parents Albert Lyman Adair and Marjorie Maude Habamacher Adair. As a young child, Weaver moved with his family to Lubbock, Texas, where he graduated from Lubbock High School in 1947. He served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1952, during which time he was stationed in Japan. Following his honorable discharge from the military, Weaver returned to Lubbock where he married Elaine K. Kallas on February 8, 1953. The Adairs made their home in Lubbock and later moved to Plainview in 1961 and to Breckenridge in 1976. Weaver owned and operated Adair Construction for over thirty years. He was the contractor for several projects in Plainview and Breckenridge and most notably, Weaver built the Copper Breaks State Park in Quanah, Texas, where he lived from 1972 to 1976.

Next to working as a carpenter, he enjoyed the outdoors, either hunting or fishing. Weaver was a Master Mason and received his "50 Year Pin" from the Yellow House Lodge in Lubbock. He was also a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Breckenridge. His parents; four brothers, Billy Adair, Joe Adair, Alfred Adair and Glen Adair; and one sister, Doris Wilson, all precede him in death.
