Frank J. McKeel Jr., 75, died Jan. 24, 1997.
Born in Bellhaven, N.C., he spent his life in Norfolk and Virginia Beach. He was retired from the Pine Tree Inn after 27 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II, participating in the amphibious assaults against Attu, Kwajelein, Leyte and Okinawa. He was a member of Lynnhaven United Methodist Church, Moose Lodge No. 39 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 4809.
Mr. McKeel is survived by his loving wife, Myrl, sharing a wonderful 54 years of happiness together. Also surviving are his loving children, William F. McKeel and his wife, Katherine, of Bakerton, W.Va., Donna F. Curtis and her husband, Anthony, of Lawton, Okla.; four granddaughters, Dana Blanchard, Michelle, Martha and Mariah McKeel; five grandsons, Christopher, Michael, and Matthew McKeel and Richard and Michael Curtis; a great-grandchild, Annise Blanchard; and two sisters, Alma Wilhelm and Katherine Judd.
Frank was a wonderful husband, father, brother, neighbor and friend. He will truly be missed by the people whose lives he touched. Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Bruce Tuttle in Lynnhaven United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund at Lynnhaven United Methodist Church, Little Neck Road, Virginia Beach, Va.
