Diana C. Costello-Erickson, 65, of Independence, Mo., passed away February 3, 2012, at the Golden Living Center with family at her side. Lung cancer took our angel. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Diana was born Jan. 31, 1947, in KCMO and worked in the insurance industry for many years. She enjoyed working with her flowers and plants, cooking, supporting the Chiefs, casino trips, and caring for her family and friends. Diana was also a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Edward Costello; sister, Rosemary Maberry; and her brother, Eddie G. Costello. Survivors include her husband, Larry D. Erickson and two step sons, John and David; brother-in-law, Ron Erickson (Kathy); sister, Delores Lugert (Danny); childhood friend, Joan Harrell; and her cat, "Tiger."
