Field Marshal Frederick Rudolph Lambart, 10th Earl of the County of Cavan was the son of Frederick Edward Gould Lambart, 9th Earl of the County of Cavan and Mary Sneade Olive
He was baptised on 19 November 1865 at the Rectory, Ayot St. Lawrence, Hertfordshire, England.
He married, firstly, Caroline Inez Crawley, daughter of George Baden Crawley and Eliza Inez Hulbert, on 1 August 1893 at Digswell Church, Digswell, Hertfordshire, England.
He married, secondly, Lady Hester Joan Byng, daughter of Reverend Francis Edmund Cecil Byng, 5th Earl of Stafford and Emily Georgina Kerr, on 27 November 1922
Field Marshal and Chief of the Imperial General Staff. He saw service in the Second Anglo/Boer War and was mentioned in dispatches. After retiring from the Army he was called back at the outbreak of WWI, and commanded troops in a number of battles. He was appointed Commander of the Italian Front in 1918 and played a major role in the defeat of the Austro/Hungarians. He was decorated by the French, the Italians, the United States and the Chinese for his achievements during WWI. In 1922 he was appointed Chief of the Imperial General Staff and in 1932 as a Field Marshal.
