John Wesley Akin had taken a trip to Little Rock Arkansas with a few friends. He was returning from Little Rock to Conway and sitting in the back seat of the Model "T" Ford. The road was icy and they were driving over "Blue Starr Hill" and they skidded off the road. John Wesley Akin was thrown over the back seat and ruptured his spleen. He was taken to the hospital and died a few days later. Clarence Bolton Akin, cried at his bedside for several days.
