Julia Charlotte Zimmerly was born on 7 January 1880, in Allegheny City (now Pittsburgh) Pennsylvania. She was the third child and third daughter born to August Charles Zimmerly and his wife, Elisabeth Schwab, both immigrants from Switzerland. Julia was baptized on 7 March 1880, in Saint Matthew's German Evangelist Reformed Church in Allegheny City. She was about a year old when the family moved on to Canton, Stark county, Ohio, where they lived for a few years before moving permanently back to Pennsylvania, this time settling in South Greensburg and Greensburg. Julia married Daniel A. Long, son of Samuel P. and Almira C. Anderson Long, on 11 October 1899. The ceremony was performd in Greensburg. They had one known child, a son, Alfred D., born about 1899, in Greensburg. Julia died about 3 1/2 years after her husband, on 31 December 1954. She was buried next to her husband in Saint Clair Cemetery, Hempfield Township on 4 January 1955. She was 74 years, 11 months, 24 days of age at the time of her death.

OBITUARY: MRS. JULIA C. LONG - Mrs. Julia C. LONG, widow of Daniel A. LONG, 1326 Elm Street, South Greensburg, died Friday at the home of her brother, August C. ZIMMERLY, 131 South Maple Avenue, Greensburg. Mrs. LONG was 73 years old. She was born in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late August C. and Elisabeth SCHWAB ZIMMERLY. Surviving are her brother, August C. ZIMMERLY, and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Z. HEARD of Rochester, New York and Mrs. Stella Z. SCHUTTE of Greensburg. Mrs. LONG was a member of the First Methodist Church and a member of the Philathea Bible Class of the Church, and a member fo Mount Odin Circle and W.S.C.S. She had lived almost her entire lifetime in South Greensburg. Friends are being received at the Seeman Funeral Home, 524 North Main Street where funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon by her pastor, Rev. Ralph W. McKENZIE, D.D.
