She was the daughter of the late W.H. Hunt and Lydia J. Howes Hunt and was united in marriage to M. S. Buchanan November 18, 1881. To this union were born five children, four girls and one boy, namely: Mrs. Effie Samples, Alexander, W.Va.; Mrs. Verna Conrad, deceased; Mrs. Laura Fisher, Replete, W.Va.; Mrs. Carrie Rexroad, Big Chimney, W. Va.;and Clark of Replete, W. Va. she also raised two boys as her own, one adopted Lloyd Cornell of Fairmont, W. Va. and grandson, Kenneth Buchanan, at home. Four brothers and two sisters also survive, Abner and James both of Jane Lew, W.Va.; Walter of Weston, W.Va.; John of Bentonsville, Ohio; Mrs. Verna Loudin of Morgantown, W.Va.; Mrs. Elizabeth Andrew, of Baltimore, Maryland. She leaves several grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren besides a host of friends.
She professed faith in Christ when about 15 years of age and united with the United Brethren Church and later with the M. E. Church and lived a consistent Christian. She was a loving mother and friend to everyone.
