Benjamin Franklin Kahrig, 81, of Cambridge, died Sunday (Jan. 4, 1998) at the Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He wa born April 20, 1916, in Lewisville, son of the late Phillip and Louisa Pfalzgraf Kahrig.
Mr. Kahrig was a self-employed truck driver and a farmer. He was retired from the Guernsey County Hughway Garage and he was a member of Salesville United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ed, Alfred,and George; a sister, Pauline Christman.
He leaves his wife, Pauline "Pat" Ingram Kahrig of the home, whom he married May 23, 1970; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Donald and Darla Kahrig of Old Washington and Bill and Helen Kahrig and Jan Kahrig, all of Salesville; a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Judy) Starr of Old Washington; two step-sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Marcia Kafury and Tom and Becky Kafury, all of Cambridge; two brothers, Homer KAhrig of Salesville and Lawrence Kahrig of Lewisville; three sisters, Minnie Walters of Marietta, Marie Brooks of Mentor and Sophia Reischman of Barnesville; nine grandchildren, two step- grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Thorn Funeral Home, where services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. John E. Bowers officiating.
Burial will be in Guernsey Memory Gardens.
