Manda Hodge was born on March 1, 1905 in Mossville Mountain, Arkansas and passed to be with her Lord on February 16, 1999 in Kansas City, Kansas. Manda’s funeral service took place on Thursday, February 18, 1999 at Morris Independent Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas at 10:00 a.m. She was buried in Mossville Cemetery in Arkansas beside her husband, Will. She followed the death of her beloved husband, Will, her daughter Daisy, her nine siblings, and her parents. Manda left behind her seven other children Maxine, Eugene, Modena, Walcie, Kenneth, Nadine, and Mildred. She also left behind cousins, and over one hundred grandchildren. Anyone who knew Manda knew she was a patient and kind person who put everyone before her self. She was a farmer’s wife her entire marriage and later opened a sewing factory for herself. Her greatest hobbies were sewing and making quilts, cooking, and taking care of her precious grandkids. Those who loved her always left with a full stomach because she constantly was cooking for her others. She loved the Lord with a mighty passion and lived her life as a reflection for Him. Her beliefs were that others should be served before her self, including men first, then children, followed by women, then lastly her self. I think this shows how selfless of a woman she was and how her love for God was shown through how she loved others. Many people looked up to her and viewed her as their mentor and role model.
