Gerald W Burk 79, of 2115 N 24th Street, died at 8:21 PM Saturday, June 28, 2002, in St Elizabeth Medical Center. Born May 8, 1923, in Randolph County, he lived in Lafayette for 49 years coming from Warren county. He married Vera M Knowles on April 20, 1946, in Kramer. She survives. Mr Burk served in the Navy from April 1, 1943 to Jan 30, 1946. He was a farmer and worked at Harrison Steel Company for several years. Most recently he retired from the custodial department at Southwestern Junior High School. He enjoyed gardening and steam engines. Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Rita Herr, husband Leonard, of Lafayette, Brenda Hainje husband, George, of Warsaw, and Lois Hoson husband, Sam, of Lafayette; a sister, Charlotte Bone, husband Jerry of West Palm Beach, florida. Interment Concord Cemetery.
