Mrs. Arnold was born in Jasper County at West Liberty, a daughter of Charles and Ellen Ivy Lane.
She was a-member of the P.E.O. and past president and charter member of the Newton Woman's Club.
She married former U.S. Rep. Laurence F. Arnold, June 13, 1914. He served in U.S. House of Representatives from 1936-1942. He died Dec. 6, 1966.
She leaves a son, Laurence of Olney; a daughter, Mrs. Rowe Griffith of Newton; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Buchanan Funeral Home, Newton, where friends may cafll from 4-9 p.m. today. Rev. Francis Belotte will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, Newton. P.E.O. services will be at 7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
