VERONA – George A. Gust, 55, died Tuesday (Mar. 20, 1973) in a Madison hospital after a brief illness. He worked for the Bowman Dairy in Madison for 25 years. He was a lifelong Verona resident and married Jean Viney in 1940. He was active in the Verona team of the Home Talent Baseball League. Surviving in Madison is a son, Guy, 2925 Todd Dr. Also surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry Rotar, Rt. 2 Belleville; his father and stepmother, Mr. And Mrs. Albert Gust, Verona; a sister, Mrs. Jack Rood, Verona; a brother, Donald R.; Solon Springs (Douglas County); and two granddaughters. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. James Lutheran Church, Verona. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Joyce-Funeral Home. The family suggests flowers be omitted and memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
