TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. — Caroline Horn, age 88, of Taylorsville, N.C., formerly of Tazewell, Va., died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, N.C. Born Aug. 16, 1923 in Bradshaw, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Whitt Hagerman and Fannie Sutherland Hagerman. She was of the Primitive Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Horn; one son, Bobby Horn; two daughters, Patricia Gale Horn and Juanita Horn; one sister, Nancy Belle Gibson; five brothers, Mack Hagerman, Albert Hagerman, Harvey Hagerman, Arthur Hagerman, and Squire Hagerman; two sons-in-law, Ronald Looney and Ronald B. Mitchell.
She is survived by three daughters, Margaret Eastman and husband, Ivan, Macey Horn, and Connie Mitchell, all of Taylorsville, N.C.; four sons, Leon Horn and wife, Lucille of Abingdon, Va., Jacky Horn and wife, Maxine of Pineville, W.Va., Donnie Horn and wife, Lisa of Matheny W.Va., and Danny Horn and wife, Dreama of Tazewell, Va.; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, Kaidyn Maurice Richards; and her pastor, Harold Thornsbury.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. with Pastors Robert Whitt and Willard Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012.
