Wesley S. Stevenson was the youngest son of Miles Stevenson and his first wife Sarah Deborah Irwin. He was married 31 August 1871 in Sangamon Co., IL to Effie May Sharp. They were the parents of five children: Jennie May, Harry Wesley, Katie A. who died at the age of three, and two other children whose names are unknown. Wesley was a farmer.

"Stevenson, Wesley - Of Rural route 1, Cantrall, died at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 1932, at residence, age 83 years. Survived by one daughter, Mrs. Thomas Olson of Cantrall; one son Harry of Springfield, 8 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Remains were taken to Ellinger & Kunz and will be removed to residence at 3 p.m. Sunday where funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. Interment in Salisbury Cemetery, Ellinger & Kunz directing."
