Rule C.R. Man Took Own Life
The death Monday of Albert F. Hyde, 55, formerly of 221 Sixth street NW, has been ruled a suicide, according to the Linn medical examiner.
Police said he died from a gunshot wound to the head inflicted at the residence of his brother, Cliford, 414 First avenue NW.
Albert Frank Hyde was born June 17, 1920, in Paralta. He formerly was married to Marcella Hyde and following her death he was married to Evelyn Stejskal.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church, the Eagles lodge, Asbestos Workers local 81 and American Legion, being a veteran of World War II.
Surviving in addition to his wife and brother are three sons, Clifton, Shellsburg, Ronald, Marion, and Harry of Cedar Rapids; his mother, Elaine Blair, Sacramento, California; two sisters, Mrs. John McGrath and Theola Stockman, both of Sacramento, and eight grandchildren.
Services: St. Patrick's Catholic church Thursday at 9:30 a.m. by the Rev. Martin T. Laughlin. Burial: Cedar Memorial. Vigil prayer service: Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Teahen funeral home, where friends may call after 2 p.m.Wednesday.
