Obituary of Benjamin F. Mackey Morning Herald, The, Monday, June 22, 1914, Uniontown, Pennsylvania, page 7. (www.newspaperarchive.com) Benjamin F. Mackey, aged 74, life long resident of Hopwood and member of the Grand Army of the Republic, died at his home Friday night at 11:15 o'clock after a week's illness. Mr. Mackey is survived by his wife, Mrs Jane Jobes Mackey and the following sons and daughters: Fuller, Chalk Hill; Sanford, at home; James, Shamrock; and Miss Anna, at home. Mr. Mackey was a member of the Christian church at Hopwood. Funeral services will be held this morning at 10 o'clock, the Rev. R. G. Manley officiating. Interment will be in the Hopwood Cemetery. Members of the G. A. R. who attended the funeral will meet at the residence of E. K. Snyder, corner of East Main street and Stewart avenue.
