Betty Louvenia (Kirby) Holinsworth, 82, died in her home Friday, April 7, 2006. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 9, at Lost Creek United Methodist Church.

She was born Aug. 31, 1923, to Benjamin Franklin Kirby and Amy Loreen (Shumate) Kirby in Perkins, Okla. She married Harold E. Holinsworth Jan. 23, 1943, at the Lost Creek Parsonage, south of Stillwater.

Betty lived in Las Vegas from 1973 to 1983, when she, along with husband, Harold, operated Bob Brown Tire Distribution. They were members of Central Christian Church. Betty was the treasurer for many years and in 1976, was honored with the Mother Of The Year award. Upon retirement Betty and Harold moved back home to Stillwater, Okla., in 1999.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother, Doyle Benjamin Kirby; and one sister, Adella Marie Blumer.

She is survived by one son, H.E. Holinsworth and his wife, Donna of Humbolt, Kan.; three daughters, Yvonne Hornberger and her husband, Bud of Stillwater, Okla., Pam Roberson and her husband, Doug of Stillwater, Okla., and Daphne Hoffman and her husband, Lyle of Las Vegas; one sister, Lodiene Nickels of Stillwater, Okla.; two brothers, Tom Kirby and his wife, Nelda of Perkins, Okla., and Jim Kirby and his wife, Barbara of Stillwater, Okla.; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and extended families.
