Seneca. April 21, 1908 - Special: The death of Hon. Elias Preston Earle, which occured at his residence her last Friday afternoon at 6 o'clock, is a distinct loss to the community, and to the church of which he was a prominent and devout member. Mr. Ealre had been in ill health for some years, and the rapid decline witnessed by his physicians and loved ones her for the past weeks was the natural premonition which warned them that the end was near. He was an intense, but brave, sufferer, and everthing that the skill of local physicians and specialists could do was done, but nothng could stay the the inroads of the dread disease and so consciously and bravely he awaited the end. His immeadiate family was about his bedside continuously, doing all that tender solicitude suggested, and the home is indeed desolated. The names of those left to mourn the irreparable loss are his wife, Mrs. Nettie Earle, his sons, Elias and Wilton, his daughter, Mary, and sister, Miss Fannie Earle, who made her home with the family. The funeral services were held at the Baptist Church on Sunday, where many sorrowing friends congregated to pay the last tribute of respect. Interment was made at Beverdam, his old home, a long procession following the remains to the distant church yard.
